  • Shooting Canon 7D with different aspect ratios other than 1.77

    Hello!

Was just curious if anyone knew of a way to shoot various aspect ratios with the canon 7D (1.85, 2.35, 2.40, etc.). I know I can do it in post with cropping or using an external monitor that generates frame lines, but I’m specifically trying to figure out if its possible to do it in camera (but all suggestions are welcomed).

    Thank you in advance!

Unless you are willing to shoot in 640 x 480, there’s no in-camera method to use a different aspect ratio.
HD video is always 16×9, so cropping in post is the only solution.
