So Ive finally got my 7D and pulled it out of the box to get shooting.

Unfortunately the only shooting modes available to me are 1080 24p/25p, 720 50p and 640 50p….

This seems strange to me, as I was expecting to also have 1080 30p and 720 60p available.

Went to update the software but it says its at 1.2.5 already.

Any suggestions as to how I get at the other modes?

    Cheers!

Sounds like your camera is set to PAL mode. Just change settings in the camera menu to NTSC, then 1080p 30 and 720p 60 should be available.

    Perfect!

I figured it would be something like that, thanks for the tip. As Im in Australia Id usually go for PAL, but seeing as all this is HD it doesnt matter right? 24 and 30 strike me as far more accepted frame rates than 25 and 50.

    Thanks again!

    Glad I helped!
Yes PAL and NTSC isn’t an issue anymore with HD.
