    Is there any chance that Canon will make it possible to shoot interlace footage? Interlace shooting uses the same bandwidth as progressive (halved frames but double framerate) so why there is no 50i feature in DLSRs?

    AFAIK there’s no way to shoot i with the Canon DSLRs.
    Why? Hmmm… That’s a question the Canon engineers might be able to answer…

    But is there any other DSLR alternative that can do it? I am producing documentary series for broadcast but my tv station accepts only 50i material. I don’t know to use big cameras as the production conditions are not very good.
