Is there an audio recording alternative to the H4n? I’ve used it a handful of times. I find it a little difficult to use and adjust on the fly.

I want to be able to run a wireless mic on one channel and an XLR shotgun on another channel. Ideally, I’d be able to use phantom power. But I can do it otherwise.

I’ve used the TASCAM DR-100 which has the advantage of remembering the time between shut offs and having 2 line outputs for head phones and for going to your DSLR camera.

The drawback with the TASCAM DR-100 is that it can’t be used as an audio i/o interface for recording voice overs or music directly into Final Cut Pro’s timeline or Logic Pro. For this reason I keep my H4n as my studio audio device and my Tascam DR-100 for my field audio device.
