OK… Im using AE 6.5 on a PC. I have FontFolio 10 (Open Type Edition) and Im using Extensis Suitecase 9.1 for PC. I activate all my fonts, about 2300 of them. When I open up AE it deactivates about 500 of them randomly. ANd sometimes, just sitting there with no apps open, they will deactivate as well.

Im also using a render farm with 5 computers. When I send projects to the Watch folder, if they are using fonts that get deactivated, it wont render.

Is there a work around to this?

How do I keep all my fonts activated? Is there a font limit in AE?

    thanx,

    AMV

I don’t think AE has a font limit, but 2300 is A LOT of fonts. Let me repeat that… 2300 is A LOT of fonts to have active on your system at one time. That’s what programs like Extensis are for, to manage your fonts so your system and applications don’t get gummed up trying to manage all the fonts themselves.

My advice- use Extensis to only turn on the fonts you need for a given project.

Well Font Folio 10 has about 2000 fonts alone. And yes it is alot of fonts.

I understand you can activate and use only the fonts you need, with a heavy font selection, but my problem is using a render farm with AE. We have 6 animators and a render farm with 5 computers. It would be too cumbersome to have to VNC to each render computer, stop the watch folder, close AE, activate the fonts u need, restart AE and activate the watch folder again, escpecially when each artist renders 2-4 projects a day.

Quark has an extenion from Extensis, that activates fonts automatically with suitecase… is there something like this for AE?

I didnt have this problem with ATM deluxe… I may switch back
