  Need Help in AE

  Kind of a newbie but I know the basics. What is it called in a video when they make someone in the video colored and make the background black and white? How would you go about accomplishing this in AE? I have Sony Vegas 6.0 as my editing software then After Effects to work on effects. Thank you, any help at all would be appreciated!
