    Hello,

There is this issue of rendering that bothers me and I have been wondering if we have hardware renderers…(I hope I’m correct) that can do the job much, much faster.

If this is possible, I am searching for a machine that is very efficient, powerful and fast.

    Thank you very much guyz…

    Regards,

beefier graphics cards from ATI and nvidia, more RAM, more/faster processers, and render farms.

A render farm is a network of computers that act collectively to render images. The master system “farms out” individual frames to rendered by machines on the network which return the rendered frames to a common folder where they can be imported and reassembled as a video clip.

    ‘building a render farm’…

Thank you very much for the reply…I appreciate it. After reading your reply I wondered how I can build my own hardware renderer. Tho’ with a lil’ knowledge from networking, I guess I’ll be able to build mine.

1a. Can you please tell me what hardware I’ll need for both ‘server’ and ‘client(s)’.

1b. I want to beleive that in such a set-up, a server system constitutes monitor, system unit, keyboard and mouse. While client system is just system unit…please make me understand.

    2. What OS am I to use…I guess this should be windows 2000, xp or linux

    3. How many animation, composite and rendering programmes can I load into the server…what I mean is, does this set-up allow multi-tasking.

    3. How many computers put together will make a render farm ‘superfast’…I guess there should be some kind of way to determine how many frames a render farm will render in say 30 minutes.

Will be glad to read from somebody soon…
