First time on-set data wrangling and formatting drives
I purchased G-Tech Drives for storing/editing on a Mac Book Pro (Two 1TB Mini G-Tech drives for on-set data wrangling and one 4TB G-Raid drive for editing)
There is a chance that some editing down the road might be done using a PC, but not positive.
I am wondering how I should format drives. I believe my two choices are:
1. Format as ExFat for easy movement from Mac to PC
2. Keep as Mac OSX and if I do end up using PC down the line, purchasing MacReaderWould it make any sense to format one of the mini drives as ExFat and the other as Mac OSX? Or would this cause any problem on set if I was using both of them to backup data?
I’ve been trying to learn about data wrangling, but I am nervous as this is my first project where I am doing it. Also, can anyone recommend good tutorial how to set up the harddrives on set? I saw a good one on theblackandblue blog, but could use some more info.
As always, thank you! And please let me know if this post would be better served in a different forum.
