long life v-lock batteries

February 3, 2011 at 3:19 amPat, if you want to make an expensive camera and the rest, look like perfect junk then use crude batteries. Otherwise, buying lots of regular NP-4 nickel- cadmium cells from Eveready or several other manufacturers, several of them located in Ohio, and electrically weld on contact straps until you make just what you need, is common, small, and easy. Nickel- iron, Edison 1.2 volts wet cells are wonderful in studios and semi- portables, and come as or can be made as any size you could ever imagine. Safer and a little more power than boat or airplane sulphuric acid batteries. “Silver” (quotes or not) cells are expensive but just amazingly powerful for highly portable applications. Just drive to the model boats hobby shop and the stuff is already there. Fred Jodry
