    Hi,

I’m fairly experienced in Adobe Premiere and am trying to learn After Effects.
One of the things that has frustrated me is how much slower it seems to preview compositions compared to Premiere’s real time capabilities.
ie. In Premiere I press play…and the timeline plays…or even if things are more complicated…I can still scrub the timeline.
In AE I press Play and it seems like it has to go through this massive rendering sequence every time…I’ve tried skipping frames on ram preview..and turning the detail down..but things are still very slow.

Can anyone suggest some good ways of speeding up the previewing aspect of your comps..I realise I’m very inexperienced…I’m sure there must be some ways to get things to work a little quicker. Or is this just the nature of After Effects? Thanks.

Reduce the resolution to Half and Comp Window magnification to 50% (to compensate).
