  hi, i am new to this forum. So please forgive me if this question has already been posted. My question is: Where do you get your footage, pictures and other implements for your clips? Are there significant websites? Do you create it yourself?

  Client supplies it or I shoot/create it.

  Sometimes I use stock images or clip art, but not too often these days. Except for playing around.

  mh, it looks as though pictures cost loads of money. Is there a way to get pictures for free?

  If you’re an amateur and the projects are not for profit then Google Image search is a good way to get images. A lot of images on personal websites have been borrowed from other sites, so tracing copyright is a pain.

  However, Google Images is a really bad habit to get into. If you ever move into doing motion graphics professionally, then you must, must, must not do this! Copyright infringement costs companies a fortune in the courts. I’ve just had to de-copyright someone else’s work before it was published and it’s added a month to the project and

  thx, i consider myself to be an amateur and i probably won’t do videoediting professionally. Nonetheless, i am always looking for decent and various material 🙂

  There are many resources on the web. Try doing a google search for “free stick photos,” etc.

  You can also go to many stores and buy the million+ image collections for less than $40, and don’t forget all the folks on eBay selling their disks of photos for few $$$.
