    Hi guys

I’m producing a set of greenscreen presentations and have come across a problem.

One member of staff wanted to use live webpages in their presentation. We used screenflash to record a PC screen live as they gave their presentation, and then dropped that in behind them.

The problem comes when i came to output the video. It’s for DVD and for web video. The tiny text and 1-pixel table lines strobe when i outputted the video as a test using the basic MS DV codec. The thing took 7 hours to render, so i can’t keep trying different codecs.

Is there anything i can do with a duplicate of the screen capture and a transfer mode, that would soften the strobing?

FYI the screenflash recorded at it’s maximum, 10 fps.

Or will it not show up once the final DVD video is made?

    Hi,

What I do is add just a little bit of gaussian blur.

    Thanks

General advice – avoid single pixel thick lines. Your video picture will be interlaced so the screen will be displaying alternating odd and even scan lines hence the strobing. Unavoidable problem – it’s the nature of the beast.

Either replace lines with 3 or 4 pixel wide lines or as the other poster suggested use a little vertical motion blur. Either way it wont look as good as it did on the original computer screen.

    Thanks for your help guys

Rerendering with a duplicate layer with a small blur and setting the transfer mode to lighten worked a treat.
