    Hi,

I would like to move rectangular shapes through a tube-like shape. Is there a way to reshape the rectangles to simulate bending around a corner? In other words, I need to comform the rectangles to the shape of the tube… I think it must require a mask and perhaps an expression. I am a beginner so be gentle…

    Many thanks.

    Susan

PS If there is an existing tutorial covering this topic, please point me to it.

I am not 100% sure that I am visualizing what you are trying to do correctly but you may want to look into some plugins for this which sill avtually bend the rectangle in a 3d world. There are numerous ones for this. If not, it can be done by changing the shape of the mask but this may take a lot of manipulation.

thanks Jonathan… I am working in 2d space, not 3d, but I am find the combination of position, rotation and mask to be totally confusing. Tweeking is hardly the word to describe the trouble I’ve seen. What plugin do you recommend to accomplish this for me. As I said, 2d is all that is needed.

    Try effect-distort-bezier warp.
