    Read the manual.

    Read it again.

    Then do this:

In your composition create a camera.
Now create a null; make it a 3d layer.
Parent your camera to the null.
    Animate a 360 rotation of the null’s y axis.
    Dance with joy.

This is the best way to work with a camera in AE, you just move the null around and the camera follows it. You can still animate the camera, to make it move in and out, to look away, and to do other things.

Why would you need a plugin?

If you want the camera to pan, keyframe the camera’s rotation.
If you want it to track, keyframe the null’s position.
If you want it to move through objects, keyframe the null and/or camera’s position.

If you want it to zoom…keyframe the zoom.

Read the manual. Read the manual. Read the manual.

    And use the null trick.

    And toy with it.
