  Field Monitor to Cheese Plate

  We’d like to mount our SmallHD Field Monitor directly behind the 5D MKIII LCD as shown in the Attached frame grabs). You can also see this at approximately 32 seconds here:

  Basically, we’re using a Manfrotto 502HD Head with the included 504PLONG QR Plate. It look like to us that we’d need to introduce a cheese plate on top of our 504PLONG QR Plate, then add another QR Plate that our 5D MKIII will attach to. The SmallHD would then come out of the cheese plate.

  Can you help point us to the correct cheese plate, articulating arm (or other connector), and QR plate combination we’d need to implement this setup?

  If I am understanding your question correctly, Isn’t what you are looking for simply a cheese plate that has holes drilled on the front or back of it like this:

  and then screwing into the cheese plate a small pivot arm to hold the monitor, like this:

  To the top and bottom of the cheese plate you’d have to attach quick release plates (the bottom one to attach to your tripod and the top one to attach to your camera)
