  • Lens stabilizer ON or OFF for match moving?

Posted by Anthony Odinson on January 13, 2015 at 4:10 pm

I will be using canon 700d to match move a shot with PFTrack. I know it’s maybe not the most ideal camera but it will have to do. The question is, if turning ON lens stabilizer will confuse the tracker?

    Thanks.

I think the issue is if you are going to be hand holding the camera or placing it on a tripod. If using a tripod then for sure you want it off (has nothing to do with match moving but just a general rule as using lens stabilization when a camera is on a tripod can actually INCREASE the amount of shake in the image)

Otherwise, if off the tripod, I think you should be OK using it. Just my opinion.
