    Hello guys.

    Is the compression made by the camera when recording to memory cards like a WinRAR compression?

    I mean: just like when we unzip a file, will programs like 5DtoRGB recover details that I would lose if I just thrown the original footage into my timeline?

    As Gary says, “No”. However, if you take a look on this Wikipedia article, in paragraph four you will find that it is possible to create a lossless, or partially lossless H.264 clip, but my guess is that it would create a much larger file size, negating the main advantage of H.264, high compression and high quality:
