The Nikon D7100 is currently the leading contender in my search for the dslr that is right for me. I do however have some doubts and questions that I would like some input on.

Some have said that the h.264 codec that Nikon doesn’t give you much to work with in grading. Is Canon 7d better in this respect. What other options do I have? Is it true that I can get an external hdmi recorder that can bypass the h.264 codec? If so, what are these called and what do they cost?

I’m also want to use my old nikon lenses (for my old nikon f300 from 1985). What sort of mount would I need to fit them on a D7100?

    Thanks, Andreas
