  Grey/Desaturated patches on DSLR footage

  Hey Guys.

  I filmed something today and got weird grey/desaturated patches around eyebrow creases. I’ve never seen this in any of my footage before (see attached image).

  At first I thought dirt on sensor but it changes shape in response to the footage and mostly occurs when we’re in frown-town (frowning!). Perhaps the camera struggling with contrast?

  Any ideas? Reflective make-up?

  It was shot with the below specs:

  Cam – CanonEOS 550D
  Firmware – MagicLantern 2.3
  Lens – Canon 50mm 1.8
  1920 x 1080 25fps

  It looks like moire. Does it happen when shooting without Magic Lantern? Try the Neutral setting for zero sharpening.
