  Application Error

  I created a large AE project, pans and scans on about 80 stills. Now, when I open it, I get an appliation error: “The instruction at “ox2b410c97” referenced memory at “0x0b23844” The memory could not be “read.” Click on OK to terminate program.”

  Tried opening several times, restarting computer, opening project in another project — same deal. Computer (HP xw4200) seems fine otherwise.

  Any way to salvage my work or is this AE Project toast? Any rec’s would be most appreciated.

  Try creating a new project, then importing the dodgy project. If it works, save under a new name, then do that again, under a new new name. Make saving under a new name a regular part of your workflow, maybe every hour or two.

  Your error sounds like bad RAM. It could be that your project only accessed the bad RAM when the project got big enough — that’s why you notice the error now. Can you trade RAM with someone else?

  Thanks for the suggestion! I don’t know anyone to trade RAM with, but I could certainly look for some RAM testing utilities out there. Any suggestions?
