Hello all! This is my first post here.

While pulling files off of a 32 GB Compact Flash card, I got errors on 3 .mov files (out of about 200). When I try to open the files individually off of the CF card, I get an error in quicktime that said “I/O error”. These files are seemingly random — they are between files that are working perfectly fine.

I tried to open the files to convert them to a different format in MPEG Streamclip, but that program (or VLC player) couldn’t open the files.

Another confusing thing is that the files play back fine in the camera.

If it matters, I’m using a Lexar Pro Firewire 800 CF card reader on Mac OSX Lion.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I believe you can use the camera itself as the card reader by hooking the camera up to the computer directly but I am not sure how far that will get you…if mpeg streamclip can’t read the files, then……?
