  iPad, camera connection kit, and canon dslr’s

  I am shooting on a t2i and have been using my camera connection kit and my 64gig iPad 1st gen as a footage dump when I fill up my cards.
  When connect my sd card to the iPad it sees the .mov file as well as the .thm file that is associated with it. When I import them the files are unable to play on my iPad, but I can later dump everything back to my iMac for editing.

  I believe the iPad reads an h.264 codec and has 720 max resolution. Is there anyway I can playback my footage on the iPad without converting the files on my iMac first?

  Maybe an app? I would rather not jailbreak my iPad, but I may consider it if I get positive feedback on it.

  Have you tried iMovie for the iPad?
