  • Really GH2? You change focus to infinity on power cycle?

just had a minor disaster, set up 2 unmanned GH2s for alternate angles of a wedding.

Turns out, when you turn the camera off and on again, the camera decides (regardless of whether you have focus set to “manual”) that it would rather focus at infinity.

And here i thought i was smart for turning off the cameras so the batteries would last through the service. i obviously should have checked focus again before rolling, but i had no idea a camera maker would even do this sort of thing. Am i the only one who thinks this is totally RETARDED? Doesn’t “manual focus” mean DONT MOVE IT UNLESS I TELL YOU TO?

oh well, now down to one HH angle for the service. ouch.

Which lens are we talking about here? I haven’t noticed this in manual on my 20mm. Shouldn’t move on power cycle.
