I love shooting my t2i at 24p. However, I also love having the flexibility of the 60 fps when it comes to slow motion. I have been conforming my footage in cinema tools, and also using twixtor for speed ramping and ultra slow motion.

Is there a correct way to mix different frame rates within an nle? (I have been using fcp 7 and premiere cs5) if my sequence is set up as 24 fps and I drop my 60 fps footage in I have some render time that I need to deal with.

Basically, I just want to know if there is a “correct” way to do this to minimize render time and maximize efficiency, and to start with 60 fps footage and have the final output be a 24 fps.

I’m also waiting for some more dslr podcasts!

I apologize if my objective is not clear, I’m writing this quickly on my iPad.
    Thanks

You are doing it correctly. 60p footage will be auto-conformed on a 24p timeline- hence the render.
