  • Confused on HDMI monitoring in 60D

I have read in one forum that when monitoring from the HDMI out, the resolution drops to 480p when using a Canon 60D. In another forum, someone says it’s still at full HD. Which one is true?

The 60D sends a 480p signal through the HDMI during Live View Mode, and is complimented with a red circle in the corner to indicate that it is recording. It still is recording to the SD card in whatever resolution/fps you have it set to, but the hdmi signal will always be dumbed down.

Anyone who says otherwise is wrong…unless there is a new Magic Lantern firmware hack that I don’t know about, but I’m usually one of the first to know these things.
