I have a client in the UK that has shot some interviews and wants to send them to via the internet. He tried uploading a file to YouTube but he said that it took nearly 5 hours for it to complete. Any suggestions for the best way for him to send me the files besides sending the card. What type of compression could he use to make the files smaller.

Have him back it up on a small hard drive and sent it to you. You could get a high speed ftp site and have him up load it there. I would not re-compress these files as they are marginal at best, already.

You could try something like YouSendIt.com
I guess there should be similar sites as well.

    Good look.

There are a lot of online file sharing sites. I’m sorry, I can’t remember the last one I used. Or, have him send a drive or the media cards to you.
