  How to import AVCHD

  What is the best way to import AVCHD? I’ve been copying the whole folder from the memory card onto the hardrive, but that’s pretty cumbersome. For photos, I import with Lightroom, which allows me to give each photo a unique name. Thanks in advance for your help.

  The primary editing software I use is Premiere Pro CS5 for Windows 7. I am not looking to change or reincode the AVCHD files, just to import or “ingest” them so that they can be viewed and edited with any compatible software. Thanks you.
