  • Nikon D5000 Exposure changes automatically!

    Hello,
I have been doing a bit of testshooting on the Nikon D5000 today to learn the camera before a shoot very soon. I know the D5000 isn’t the best choice but thats what available to me at this point.

Now, I’m in M mode and I turn on live view and start filming and the exposure seems to be changing automatically, I can see it happening when I move the camera from a bright to a dark composition. Obviously I want to make my own exposure decisions so how can I stop this madness?

I’ve turned of the “D-lighting” function but that made no difference and the users manual doesn’t have the answer as far as I can find…

    Please help!

OK found the answer, I’ll write it here for future reference:

Holding the AE-L AF-L button is the trick it seems or in the custom setting menu (option f2) you can change so that you just need to push it rather than hold it.
