Just curious if any company like ZOE are thinking about creating or have already created a remote start and stop controller for HDSLR cameras. It would suck if you had your camera mounted on a crane and had to either keep it rolling in between takes or keep lowering it to start or stop recording.

I use a wired remote with our Panasonic GH1s. They work fine and we have the remote switch attached to our rig handles. However, it plugs into the audio input jack, precluding on-camera audio (if you need it).
Tester 13, the infamous GH1 hacker, is supposedly working on workaround. These remotes are cheap on Ebay. Don’t know about other DSLR brands.

Actually, I am now getting remote start/stop in the video mode on the GH1 and audio from the built-in mic at the same time, even with the remote plugged into the mic input jack!
