So I recently got my Canon 7D, and I like it quite a bit. However, I’ve yet to be able to edit with it. I’m on a windows computer with Premiere Pro, and I need to compress my footage. Using MPEG Streamclip, I’ve tried to convert it to several of the AVID codecs, Apple DV Pal and Apple Cinepak. Now, all of the Avid ones were choppy as hell. The Apple DV Pal refuses to get a HD resolution, and the Apple Cinepak screws up the colours. What would be a good codec for conversion? And where can I get it?
