  Capturing HDMI output from Sony HX1 on PC?

  I just want to use my great Sony HX1 DSLR as a high quality web camera with zoom. Then I can do continuous video capture of lectures in my notebook PC, and not have the 30 minute and 2Gig limit when recording to SD card.
  My Lenovo notebook has an HDMI and Firewire sockets (2GHz Duo Centrino and 4 G RAM). My Sony HX1 camera has an HDMI socket. I have one cable with HDMI plugs on both ends, and another cable with HDMI and USB plugs.
  Can HDMI output from the camera be be fed into Firewire or USB inputs in the computer?
  What settings are needed on the camera, and what software is needed in the PC notebook? Please show me some light. Thanks.

  I’m pretty sure the HDMI port is an output only, but you should confirm that on your own.

  I don’t think you would be able to feed the laptop a video feed through an HDMI to USB converter, but that is just my educated guess.
