Our Sony FS7 fails to import into catdv. I converted the mxf files to mov but then it removes the timecode. Anyone else having this issue. The file structure for the FS7 begins with XDROOT and then beyond that appears like other XDCAM structure.

    Any help appreciated!

Hi Kyle, can you raise a support ticket at support@squarebox.com please?

We’re always expanding the formats we support for both metadata handling and playback. We’ll take a look.

    Thank you

    Dave

Promax suggested updating to catdv 11 and that it has an updated playback engine which would work with FS7 footage. It was able to import but there were import errors on every single clip. Playback was laggy, and verbatim logger failed to open. So far this does not solve the problem for our logging and archiving needs.

I emailed ProMax again. We’ll see what they say.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

For those who also run CATDV 10.0 and want to work with XAVC codecs, simply download the AVC Intra Decoder from Calibrated Software. $150 and didn’t have to reinvent the workflow wheel!
