This issue is plaguing me….We have a client laptop running Windows XP and sometimes it will see the proxies, and sometimes not.

I’ve attached a jpeg of the media search path which is //Catdv/catdv_media_Proxy. (expand wildcards is usually unchecked)

Is it possible I need to go into my Network Locations in the Windows XP computer and permanently make a specific path or network connection to the server? Or, do I need to somehow tell my server to allow the client connection?

I feel like my search path is wrong, but this is what we use for all other client computers (mainly windows 7 and mac) and they work fine.

    Thanks!

This is likely a Windows thing, as opposed to CatDV.

Squarebox recommends using UNC paths and not mapped drive letters as Quicktime doesn’t play nice with drive letters over ethernet networks.

Try UNC and see if that sorts you out.

Make sure you have the expand with wild cards checked on all the time with those path settings as they use wild cards.

The paths you have in there will also only work for the PC clients so you will need a mac path if any apple users want to access the proxies.
