What is the best way to design a looping menu so that i can’t see a “hitch” and the end of the 30 seconds? I have a filmstrip i made in PSD and brough it into AE. It has 5 photos that i want to scroll “roll” then loop right into the first photo again. I keep getting a glitch at the end. Any help would be great.

Have pauses built into the animation to disguise the jump.

… because currently, DVD menus always have a delay when looping.

Assuming you’re talking about a DVD menu …?

    Howdy,

I have been working with AE since the cosa days and know the app quite well. AE has always performed rationally and beautifully.

On a rush job last night I ran into a weird looping / time problem.

The loop would appear perfect in the Comp view but when rendered the loop did not match up – as if it rendered a few frames short of completing the loop. I checked the out point 6 times and rendered the clip 3 times. Same result all 3 renders.

Two elements in the clip loop perfectly in the comp view but both are off when rendered. That makes for a bad hiccup in the loop.

Of course this was a rush job overnight for broadcast. I fixed it this morning.

The fix was shortening the clip. The failed renders were 1 minute long. The successful renders were :30 long.

It seems to me there is some funky timing going on in AE. I know Drop frame should only effect the timecode not the actual number of frames or content….. but what could it be?????

Anyone else notice funky timing in “longer” comps?

My tip for looping: Render one frame short of a perfect loop to avoid repeating the first frame.

    Thanks
