I’d like to know how CatDV handles the conversion from subclips in FCP7 to favorites in FCPX. I’m working on a large documentary project; I’ve subclipped all the footage in FCP7 and would now like to port the project over to FCPX, making all the subclips appear as favorites. Will this work properly? The one thing I’m worried about is that timecode numbers for subclips in FCP7 can overlap but timecode numbers for favorites in FCPX cannot overlap. Has anyone been able to convert FCP7 subclips to FCPX favorites using CatDV? What happens with a subclip that has overlaps timecode with another subclip? Does this subclip not transfer over to a favorite in FCPX?

I’d suggest you give it a go if you’re not sure by sending an email to sales@squarebox.com requesting a temporary eval license. If you send a subclip over we do create a proper subclip in FCPX as far as I know, but I must admit I’m not sure how FCPX reacts if they overlap.
