  • HD Premiere timeline coming into Resolve at half size (4k original footage)

Posted by Matthew Landfield on March 12, 2020 at 12:47 am

I’m importing an XML from a Premiere Pro timeline, and when I pull the timeline up in Resolve, all of the footage is zoomed to .49 in the Inspector.
The sequence in Premiere is HD 1920×1080, but all of the original footage is 4K 3840×2160. In Premiere, the clips have been scaled to 50% to fit on the HD sequence.
We’re doing color in Resolve and then outputting at HD resolution, but how can I avoid having to go through all of the clips in Resolve (or in Premiere) and resize them?
Using Premiere Pro (14) and Davinci Resolve Studio 16.2

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Prior to importing the xml you can change the way Resolve treats the incoming footage. Scaled or not. The default is to pre scale the footage, then apply values to zoom etc.

Before importing the xml again, go to Settings> Image Scaling and input scaling should be set to Center crop with no resizing. Now when you import it will have the absolute scale the same as Pr.
