  Generating Proxy/Optimized footage automatically as clips are importing

  Hi,

  I am using DaVinci 14 on an imac

  Is it possible that when I import 4K, Ultra HD or HD footage that it automatically generates Optimized/Proxy clips as it’s importing so I don’t have to do it later?

  Excuse my ignorance but it only takes like a second to import any number of clips into Davinci, hardly enough time to also generate Proxy clips. As soon as you drag them into the Media Pool, they’re imported.

  You may as well take that extra second to click on “Generate Optimized Media”. I’m assuming you’re new to Davinci. If not, then excuse this clown response. I’m only trying to help 😉

  I’m with Duke…importing is pretty much instantaneous. Its not creating new media, you are simply telling Resolve where the clips are. From there, select the clips and create your optimized media….then wait.

  Unless….he meant while importing them from the SD card onto his PC using Resolve? Maybe? In which case I think the answer is still no. But I could be wrong. Just trying to cover all the bases. I’m “Delivering” right now so I can’t check if that’s an option.
