  • finding the correct PAR setting in Resolve for my SD miniDV footage

    Dear all,
I’m finishing a doc in Da Vinci Resolve. I have footage from various cameras, including a Sony TRV950 and a Panasonic DVX100B — both shot in SD on miniDV tapes. I need to know the correct PAR (pixel aspect ratio) setting in Resolve (under “Clip Attributes”) for each camera’s footage, so that the images are all in the correct proportion and not stretched. From just looking at the image, it looks like the Sony TRV950 footage should be set to a PAR of “NTSC” and the Panasonic DVX100B should be set to a PAR of “NTSC DV” — can anyone confirm that this is correct, or that it’s possible?
    Many thanks!
    Best,
    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,

I uprezzed some old family mini dv material. I used DV-PAL setting (in media page, clip attributes) and that gave the correct sizing, also with anamorphic correction. Just try, it shows immediately if it overstreches
