    Hey all!

I have a short question after just using the ray-traced render option for the first time in Adobe After effects.
When I create a text layer, end try to apply some effects to it like for example, a ramp, fill or a drop shadow, it won’t show up. Is there anything that I’m doing wrong and need to know about when using the ray-traced rendering?

The only reason that I’m using the ray-traced rendering option is so that I can use the “environment layer” option.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Best regards,

    Thanks for the comment!

Sorry for not letting you guys know.. I’m using After Effects CS6.

To be honest, I did not think about using C4D Lite for this project because I was hoping there would be a solution for this issue.. But if there’s not, I will definitely check it out!

To give you guys some more information.. The thing is that the text layer just shows itself as the way it’s set in the character window. When I apply some effects, nothing happens. The text just stays the same.

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,

The ray-tracing renderer does not render masks or effects on continuously-rasterized layers, including text or shape layers.

You could either precompose the text, or use the CC Environment effect in a Classic 3D comp.
