  DaVinci > A.E best workflow?

  Hi.
  I want to use AE to do some basic video file transforms, no effects, only position and anchor changes e.g. rotations, flips, and scale transform, I also quite regularly mask out certain areas of my footage too too.
  I am wondering if there is a way to render a proxy to AE to adjust these kinds of changes before relinking the sequence back in DaVinci to add the LUT and push to a final render? I suspect my need for masking may make this workflow incompatible? If so, what would you guys recommend? I am having lots of conflicts with importing ProRes files exported out of DaVinci into AE and PPro, so need to find a better solution than add LUT and render from DaVinci first.
