Has anyone here used a GTX 770 4GB GPU in a single card Mac Pro (2010or 2012). I want to replace a GTX 570 2.5GB. I do render some 4K & UHD program, but was wondering:

    1) What impact do connected GUI displays have on GPU RAM (GUI displays: 1x 2560×1440, 1x 1920×1200, 1x UHD)

    2) These cards have 1x 6-pin & 1x 8-pin AUX power ports. What would I use to adapt the 8-pin power connector on the GPU)?

    thanks,

    Jonathon

Just get the PCI-E 8 pin adapters that go to 2 PCI-E 6 pin connectors. The Card should be fine. People are already using the 780GTX and Titan with those.

    hey Eric

The 780 and Titan don’t require additional power in a Mac Pro?

To stay within spec those cards would yes, but the max power draw is only 25W over and all the Nvidia cards will throttle via C-States if required. A 2nd PSU though is the safe way to configure.
