Has anyone got any experience with this card yet. It’s quite new and I am keen to have a card that still gives me access to the boot screen in OSX. I am only planning to be using it to grade 1080 rushes and it would be a sole card.

    Any thoughts on this welcome.

Yup sounds like the card for you then! Unless you render beyond 1080 ever…then you should get the 4GB version which wont have the boot screen BUT especially in Resolve10 will be important to have that extra RAM on the card…i suggest you ‘future proof’ your box by getting the 4GB if you don’t mind losing boot screen.

Well, I don’t plan on doing anything above 1080 but I do plan on getting Resolve 10. What’s the extra RAM required for with version 10? Really don’t want to lose the boot screen.

What you guys mean by “boot screen”?
Does it mean, if I have a Hackintosh with the 2gb version of the 680 card, that I cannot grade 2k and 4 k material, if I have 32GB RAM?
    Thanx.

No worries so far. I have my HacMac running with the 680 and it’s rock solid. FCP 7, FCPX, Resolve, AE all running smooth and fast.
