    Hello,

I’m a DP planing the postproduction for a feature length documentary for cinema I shot for a small production company here in Switzerland. We are planing to set up a Resolve system for the future, which a professional colorist can work with. I’d like to get your opinion on a setup that works for a professional colorist to get the job done.

We currently have the following system:

    Apple MacPro
    2x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    24 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB
    BM DeckLink HD Extreme 3D
    2x Dell Ultrasharp 24″ Monitors
    1x JVC DT-V20L3D Video Monitor

We are planing to get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 for Resolve GPU processing and the complete TangentDesign Element panels.

We were thinking to rent a high class monitor for the time of the color grading. Since buying such a monitor is beyond the budget an we have a JVC monitor to work with for smaller projects.

    Would that setup work?

    Thank you for your insights.

Replace the Raedon, even if it is only for GUI.
