Resolve Lite first run – can’t import FCPX XML?
I’ve installed Lite to have a first look at roundtripping from FCPX.
From what I can make out it should be a straightforward process to load a FCPX? When I try to load the XML I get the following message:
FcpXV1Video: invalid times in=86368 offset=245 duration=16
Am I doing something idiotic? I know I don’t have a full recommended spec, but it should work (even poorly) to assess the product, shouldn’t it?
Resolve Lite 8.2.1b
FCPX 10.0.4
OSX 10.7.4
2010 Mac Pro 2.8 Quad
ATI 5770
16GB RAM
SSD system drive

Tried the new Beta 3 and I can’t load any XML – Resolve just crashes and quits every time…

Are you on the latest FCP X update? Can you post your FCP X XML here?

Yup, I’m on 10.0.4 – as listed above.
I’ve tried different versions of many different projects. With a basic project with just, say, 4 clips on a basic timeline it imports into Resolve, but Resolve is crashing on any number of different actions – even clicking on menus.
With a ‘complex’ project with compound clips or multi cam clips Resolve simply crashes on import.

Sure – here’s the XML. I’ve tried XML from several different timelines and many of them cause Resolve to summarily quit. A super simple timeline with just a few clips imported, but then crashed Resolve after a few edits.

I’m having the exact same problem with beta 8.2.1b3. Very simple XML file from FCPX 10.0.4. I’m going to try and revert to 8.2 and see if that fixes it….

I’ve reverted to 8.2 and I can now import FCPX XML 1.1 files. There’s something amiss with the 8.2.1b.
System:
MacPro 2,1 (yes, I know…)
