  Flanders Scientific OLED or LCD for color grading

  I have an old LM-1760 I have been using for grading and has served me well. Looking to upgrade and wondered if I should go for OLED or if that’s overkill and the BMD240 would suit my needs. Appreciate any advice.

  This is a terrific place to ask that question. You can’t go wrong with either Flanders monitor, cost is the most important consideration, if you can afford the OLED monitor it will serve you well.

  I’d go for the oled. it is a true 10bit panel and seems more future-proof. the b series
  is meant for broadcast-work and the c for cinema work, as far as i recall it. and a propos
  cinema: if you are planning to do cinenma-grading on the oled, i’d raise the black level.

  Thanks for the responses. For me cost really is a factor as I’m in Canada and our dollar is in a nosedive at the moment. I think the BM series will be fine for my work. Thanks again!

  i saw your post, the question between lcd and oled for cinema interesting me..
  what was your choice after the discussion, for exemple between BM 240 and 250 ?
  how is your feeling today between both, can we say oled is for good for grading for tv, LCD for Cinema ?
