  • BCC sphere: map a tennis ball?

Posted by Bob Cole on October 27, 2005 at 1:24 am

I need to create a spinning, 3D tennis ball. I’ve played with BCC Sphere, but haven’t had much success. Make that, any success.

As you Wimbledon fans know, a tennis ball has a shape not unlike the seams on a baseball. I have live-shot a ball suspended on fishing string and set to twirling, but it only revolves in one direction and that gets old quickly, though the texture is very nice.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Have a look at this QT. It contains objects I created using AE and Invigorator. There is a tennis ball in there. If you like it shoot me an e-mail and I will send you the map. You could use it with BCC sphere but you would better do that with Invigorator (If you have) at it will enable you to use a Bump-map and more.
