  Resolve freezing during render

  Hi

  Having issues with Resolve when rendering a 4K r3d timeline to 4K ProRes LT proxies.

  We have 12 timelines cued up with about 40 clips in each and are rendering each one to multiple files from original source – compound clips for them all so a separate audio file can be attached.

  Had differing results, but it seems to be randomly freezing and then crashing during the export.

  Some nights it gets through 4 timelines, others 1.

  New Mac Pro – 6 core, 32 G RAM, D700s
  Media stored on external G Studio XL thunderbolt 2 drive and rendering to same destination
  Project files on same thunderbolt drive
  OS 10.10.1
  Resolve most recent version

  HELP!

  you may have a bit of a bottle neck going to and from the same drive. Have you tried going internal for a few to see if that helps?

  Solved it. We had updated recently to Yosemite and app nap had been switched back on for resolve without us knowing. Very annoying.

  App nap might have been a red herring. Still doing it.
