Out of the blue getting this error message. had no problems rendering to exact same path before. WTF?

DaVinci Resolve is unable to render to the selected path “/….” as it does not have write permission. Please ensure that DaVinci Resolve has write permission for the path selected and the first drive you list in Preferences.

Did you find a solution? I’ve got the same problem (V11.3.1, OSX 10.10.2).

Eh… repair permissions? Check to see if the drive is partially locked in the Finder? Make sure the drive is available in the Scratch Drive settings?

If your source files are QuickTime, or you are rendering QuickTime files, illegal characters in the file name or path name of the source or render files can cause this issue.

There are no obvious illegal characters in filenames (maybe in Quicktime metadata?).

Repairing rights was the first thing I did. No success. Other apps don’t have any problems to write to that path.

Jan, are you working with Martin, or a different scenario? Windows or Mac?

Yes, same Mac workstation, 2 different student projects but using the same source material.

Sometimes the error message has nothing to do with the situation and the application is sjmply making a best guess. You will get this notification if you have run out of space on the disk, as well.
