    It looks like there is virtually no shadow in the image.

    Do you have Element version 1 or 2?

    In V1, you have Ambient occlusion and the combination of diffuse, specular and ambient lighting to play with, as well as the environment settings as well as using AE lights instead of just the environament.

    In V2, you also have real cast shadows, either shadow mapping (for parallel and spot lights) and ray-traced shadows that work for point lights as well.

    Plus you have the Multipass mixer where you can adjust the balance, at least in V2, don’t remember if it existed in V1, has been a while since I used it.

    If those don’t suffice, you can add a curves or other color or contrast adjustments on the layer to push the contrast even further.
