Hello, we are pleased to announce the release of DaVinci Resolve 11 public beta to our new support web site. There are full licensed versions for Mac, Windows and Linux OS. These are no charge upgrades for existing customers. Also available on the web site at no charge are DaVinci Resolve Lite for Mac and Windows.

While there has been significant testing prior to this release and a number of testers have been using v11 on jobs we welcome reports of any issues that you find in the public beta.

Peter, have any of the panel mappings changed in 11? Specifically the JL Cooper?

No changes at this time. It’s under review for a later version but its not a 5 min job to change any of them.

    Hi,
the fact being a beta version means that is not a FINAL version?
    I work as a DIT and i’m starting a new job tomorrow…
is it safe for me to upgrade before this job?
    or it’s better to wait…
    Thanks.
    nuno.

    Hi all,

    to Peter :

I tried to play several hours with the edit part of Da Vinci (as an editor).

It’s a huge improvement from Da Vinci 10.

As it is claimed to become (at least in a near futur) a tool for editors, do you planed to implement in the futur:
    – multicam ?
    – more easy integration of full screen playback (without having to go to color tab) and with the possibility to choose the screen used for full screen (and to keep an eye on your timeline while playing in full screen)?
    – safe area in edit mode ?
    – the possiblity to load a timeline in the media viewer (as in Media composer) to edit from timelines (and copy/past sequences in other timelines) ?
    – Omf export ?

unless I didn’t read the manual with both eyes, these features are really missing to make it a true “pro” editing tool.
But the GUI is awesome and all the editing tools that are here are really great !

    Thanks in advance,
    Alek

    Thanks Peter.
I’m slow responding but do you have a roadmap ? Can you tell us how the beta will evolve in the futur ? (Any new features planed before the release ?)
For the french people, I made a small recap of what misses and what is good (IMO) on my blog here : https://micmac.alexandrewestphal.fr/

I’ll keep looking carefully to the next steps of resolve.
